Holy Grail Drugstore Makeup Products

June 11, 2018

As much as I love splurging on makeup from time to time, realistically drugstore products are my usual go-to in my everyday life. They are convenient to find and are better suited for my just-got-out-of-school, still-trying-to-figure-out-life budget. Plus, you can definitely create a glamorous look at a lower price point!

Here is a list of my tried and true drugstore favorites that were used in the creation of the look shown above.

SIMPLE Cleansing Facial Wipes

Although this might not be the most exciting product, it is one that I have repurchased numerous times. These are the only makeup wipes that I have found that have never caused any type of irritation or burning sensation to my skin. They remove makeup quickly and easily when you are ready to take off your makeup before bed, or when you are lazy like me and wait until the next morning to remove it. (I'm terrible. I know.)

Side Note: They also have exfoliating facial wipes, which are not as comfortable to use. I made the mistake of buying those once and never let it happen again.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte and

Pro-Glow Foundations

I'll be honest, foundation is the main item that I splurge on when it comes to my makeup collection. When I don't have access to high-end foundations, L'Oreal always seems to have my back. I have used both the Pro-Matte and Pro-Glow foundations many times and have been satisfied with the outcome.

Both formulas last all day long and pair well with a variety of other products. If you have dry skin, I would recommend that you try the Pro-Glow first. For those of you who have more oilier skin, try the Pro-Matte. Or if you're like me and your skin can't decide what it wants to do, try both!

I used the Pro-Glow foundation in the look that I created because I felt like it gave a healthy, fresh, summertime appearance.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer

When I use a concealer I typically want it to have very full coverage. I have to have something strong enough to cover the set of luggage lingering under my eyes. (Get it? It's a bag joke.) This concealer definitely does the trick! It reminds me a lot of the Tarte Shape Tape concealer, but a little less drying and at a $6 price point. Can't beat that!

Side Note: As of right now, this concealer is only offered in 3 fairly light shades. Hopefully they will release additional colors in the future that will be suitable for all skin tones!

Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder - Translucent

This is one of my all time favorite setting powders. It is one of the few powders that I can use to set my under-eye concealer without it looking dry. It also leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. Not to mention that it has a nostalgic scent that makes you happy to be putting on makeup.

Morphe 35O Eyeshadow Palette

I'm not sure if Morphe is technically considered a drugstore brand, but I still wanted to include this palette. It is very affordable and the shadows are great quality. They are easy to blend, are highly pigmented, and wear well throughout the day. This is one of my favorite palettes to keep in my makeup kit, because it can be used to create a gorgeous look on anyone.

Wet n Wild Megaliner - Black

I have been wearing this liquid eyeliner for nearly 10 years. It will forever be one of my favorite products. It is inexpensive, jet black, and does not budge once it is on your eyes.

Side Note: There is also a waterproof version of this liner. DO NOT GET IT. I've tried to make it work many times and it is a disaster. Just run far away. Sprint.

L'Oreal Paris Lash Paradise Mascara

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, this is the mascara for you! I was amazed the first time that I put this mascara on my lashes. It literally looked like I had applied false lashes. The formula of this mascara lengthens and gives volume to lashes. I have never noticed any flaking, clumping, or experienced the dreaded "spider lashes" while using this mascara.

Ardell Demi Wispies False Eyelashes

These false lashes just might be the love of my life. They blend in perfectly with my natural lashes, while still giving me the desired extra length and volume. The band is thin enough so  that it doesn't cause discomfort to my eyes, but sturdy enough to keep a curve to the lashes and allow for an stress-free application. I always get multipacks of these lashes so that I can use them on clients. They look good on everyone!

Pro Tip: Apply lashes with DUO Lash Adhesive. The adhesive is available in both clear and black, but I prefer to use the clear. You can also trim the outside corners of the lashes to create a more custom fit to your eye shape.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

Go to your nearest drugstore, buy this bronzer, open it up, and take a huge sniff of its glorious scent. You can thank me later. It literally smells like a tropical paradise.

It creates a beautiful, subtle glow that is perfect for the summer. I mean who doesn't want to run around looking like a bronzed goddess?! I know I do! Since it is a matte formula, I also like to use it for contouring my nose.

Milani Baked Blush - Luminoso

I mention this blush pretty regularly in videos and blog posts, but that's only because it's perfect in every way. It looks beautiful paired with nearly any makeup look that I create. It has a hint of a subtle glow, which is perfect for someone like me. I like to achieve a healthy glow without having to pile on the highlighter.

L'Oreal Infallible Paints / Lips -

Spicy Blush 314

I enjoy these lip paints because they are pigmented, easy to apply, and comfortable to wear throughout the day. This product is offered in a variety of different shades from nudes to reds to bold blues and purples. There is definitely a color for everyone. My personal favorite is the shade Spicy Blush. It is a perfect nude for me and is a shade that I can feel comfortable wearing any day of the week.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil

I can't forget about brows! I used to never fill in my eyebrows because I claimed that they already looked like caterpillars. Now that I understand the miracles that can be made with a little definition to those caterpillars, I try to find brow pencils that will allow me to have a lot of precision. This brow pencil works thin and is great for filling in patchy areas. It creates a defined brow without making it look too harsh or unnatural.

It reminds me of the Precisely, My Brow Pencil by Benefit Cosmetics, another one of my favorite brow products.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I had to include this product because it is an absolute necessity in my life. I have probably purchased over 50 of these sponges over the past few years. It has been my official replacement for the Beauty Blender. You can purchase 4 of these sponges for around the same price that you would spend on 1 Beauty Blender. That's insane! I use this sponge to blend out foundation, concealer, cream contour, and to apply powder. For me, it is one product that I absolutely cannot live without.

Pro Tip: Make sure that you wet the sponge before use. It will expand and become softer, making it much easier to blend out products.

I hope this list was helpful and that you discovered a few new products that you would like to try next time you visit your local drugstore. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and how they worked for you!
